The batch number is the identifier that links a physical vial to a specific production run and to its analytical records.
Where it appears
On the vial label, on the certificate of analysis, and in the supplier’s batch archive.
Why it matters
It is the only reliable way to confirm that a published test result describes the material you received.
What to check
The batch on the certificate, the batch printed on the vial, and the batch referenced in your order should all agree.
If they disagree
Do not use the material in research; contact the supplier with the order number and photographs of the label.
