SLU-PP-332: ERR Agonist Research Guide (2026)
Last updated
Introduction (research-only scope)
SLU-PP-332 is not a peptide. It is a synthetic small molecule that activates the estrogen-related receptors ERR alpha, beta and gamma, developed in Thomas Burris’s laboratory and studied under the label of an exercise mimetic. It appears in peptide catalogs because of the audience it attracts, and that alone is a reason to describe it accurately.
Research use only. The material described here is a laboratory reagent for in-vitro research by qualified professionals. It is not a medicine, supplement, cosmetic ingredient or veterinary product, is not for human or animal use, and nothing on this page is medical advice or a claim of effect in any person.
What is SLU-PP-332?
SLU-PP-332 (molecular mass 481.93, CAS 2172820-82-1) is a pan-ERR agonist. ERRs are orphan nuclear receptors that regulate transcriptional programmes for mitochondrial biogenesis and oxidative metabolism, particularly in skeletal muscle and heart. Peptra Labs supplies it as a research reagent, 5 mg per vial; being a small molecule rather than a peptide, its handling and solubility behaviour differ from the rest of the catalog.
How the reported mechanism works
Nuclear receptor agonism
Rather than binding a cell-surface receptor, SLU-PP-332 acts inside the cell on transcription factors, which is why reported effects appear over hours to days in gene-expression readouts rather than minutes in signalling assays.
Why “exercise mimetic” is a hypothesis, not a claim
The label describes the research question, whether pharmacological ERR activation reproduces part of the transcriptional response to endurance exercise, not an established property. Newer analogues from the same programme, such as SLU-PP-915, are being characterised for oral activity.
What the published evidence covers
The record is entirely preclinical: rodent studies and cell work, with a 2026 review setting out the therapeutic hypothesis and a 2026 paper describing a related orally active compound. There are no human trials of SLU-PP-332, and no approved product. Any page presenting it as a proven training substitute is describing a hypothesis as if it were a result.
How to verify a SLU-PP-332 research peptide is real and pure
Two tests answer two different questions: mass spectrometry confirms identity (expected molecular mass 481.93), HPLC quantifies purity. Our specification is at least 98%. Check the batch number printed on your vial against the lab reports archive: where a batch has been tested, its report is published there and links to the testing laboratory’s own verification page. If your batch is not listed yet, ask us for its documentation before use; a “typical” certificate is not evidence for a specific vial. See how to read a certificate of analysis.
Storage and reconstitution
Store the lyophilised material sealed, dry and protected from light at 2 to 8 °C for routine laboratory use, colder for long-term archiving. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, keep refrigerated and use within the window your protocol defines; repeated freeze-thaw cycles degrade peptides. General handling for all our reagents is in the peptide storage protocol.
Regulatory status
SLU-PP-332 is not an authorised medicine anywhere and is supplied strictly as a laboratory research chemical. It is not named individually on the WADA Prohibited List, but section S0 covers substances without approval for human therapeutic use, and metabolic modulators are addressed separately in section S4; athletes should treat the live list as binding. Research-grade material supplied here is not a medicine and is for in-vitro laboratory use only. The wider framework, including anti-doping status, is described in the peptide risk profile.
