Description
All presented information is based on scientific publications which can be found at the end of product description below.
TB-500 is the synthetic form of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring peptide in virtually all tissue types. As a major actin-sequestering molecule, it plays fundamental roles in cell migration, blood vessel formation, and tissue repair. Research Highlights 1. wound repair research ā Enhanced cell migration, angiogenesis, collagen deposition, and tissue remodeling.
2. Cardiac Repair ā Activates cardiac progenitor cells, reduces scar formation, improves ventricular function post-MI.
3. Actin Regulation ā Primary intracellular G-actin sequestering peptide, modulating polymerization dynamics.
4. Anti-Inflammatory ā Downregulates inflammatory cytokines while promoting anti-inflammatory mediators.
5. Neurological ā Promotes oligodendrocyte differentiation and axonal regrowth after stroke/TBI.
6. Ocular Repair ā Promotes corneal wound repair research and reduces inflammation. References available upon request. The product is intended for scientific research and development purposes only. Frequently asked questions
- TB-500 is a synthetic 17-amino-acid fragment derived from the central actin-binding region of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid protein found in most mammalian cells. The fragment retains the conserved LKKTET actin-binding motif. Molecular weight is approximately 2.0-2.2 kDa depending on terminal modifications.
- Batch-level CoA information is available where applicable and focuses on purity testing and lot details.
- Lyophilised TB-500 is stable at -20 °C in a sealed, desiccant-protected vial for long-term storage. Reconstituted solutions are less stable - single-use aliquots are recommended to avoid freeze-thaw cycles, which can degrade the peptide.
- TB-500 (and full-length Tβ4) has been studied in preclinical models of skin repair, corneal repair, myocardial infarction, skeletal muscle injury, and central nervous system damage. The mechanism of interest is G-actin sequestration and downstream effects on cell migration.
- No. TB-500 from Peptra Labs is supplied for laboratory research only and must not be used as a human or veterinary product.
