Description
All presented information is based on scientific publications which can be found at the end of product description below.
VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide signaling through VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors, mediating diverse physiological functions across the nervous, immune, and gastrointestinal systems. Research Highlights 1. Immune Modulation — Inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-12) while promoting IL-10.
2. Neuroprotection — Promotes neuronal survival against oxidative stress, excitotoxicity, and amyloid-beta toxicity.
3. Pulmonary Function — Bronchodilator and pulmonary pressure regulator. Investigated for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
4. GI Regulation — Relaxes smooth muscle, stimulates secretion, modulates intestinal motility.
5. Circadian Rhythm — VIP-expressing SCN neurons essential for circadian rhythmicity.
6. Reproductive Biology — Influences steroidogenesis, uterine contractility, and erectile function. References available upon request. The product is intended for scientific research and development purposes only. Chemical substances shall not be used as a drug, medicine, active substance, medical aid, cosmetic product, a substance for production of a cosmetic product neither for human consumption that is any food or food supplement or otherwise similarly used on humans or animals. Intended only for in-vitro research, such as Receptor-ligand binding studies, Enzyme activity assays, Cell proliferation assays, Cell signaling assays, Epitope mapping, etc.

Frequently asked questions
- VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide with sequence HSDAVFTDNYTRLRKQMAVKKYLNSILN-NH2. Molecular weight is approximately 3326 Da. It is a member of the secretin/glucagon family of peptides.
- Batch-level CoA information is available where applicable and focuses on purity testing, lot details, and synthesis date.
- Store lyophilised at -20 °C in a sealed vial protected from light and moisture. Reconstituted solutions are relatively unstable - aliquot for single use and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
- VIP has been studied in models of neural protection, gastrointestinal motility, vasodilation, and immune modulation. It is also investigated as a tool peptide in receptor pharmacology (VPAC1/VPAC2 receptors).
- VIP is a naturally occurring peptide investigated in various research contexts. The synthetic form supplied by Peptra Labs is strictly for laboratory research and must not be used as a human or veterinary product.
