Description
All presented information is based on scientific publications which can be found at the end of product description below.
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide discovered around 2012 at USC. It represents a novel form of mitochondrial-nuclear communication, regulating nuclear gene expression during metabolic stress. Research Highlights 1. Muscle Metabolism — Enhances glucose uptake via AMPK activation independently of insulin pathway.
2. Fat Metabolism — Mitigated obesity and insulin resistance in ovariectomized mice. Reduced sphingolipid and monoacylglycerol metabolism.
3. Insulin Sensitivity — Plasma levels correlate with insulin sensitivity in lean individuals. Enhanced beta-oxidation.
4. Bone Health — Promotes type I collagen synthesis via TGF-β/SMAD pathway and osteogenic differentiation.
5. Longevity — Specific gene variant in Northeast Asian populations associated with exceptional longevity.
6. Cardiovascular — Lower levels correlate with endothelial dysfunction. Pretreatment improved vascular responsiveness. References available upon request. Frequently asked questions
- Batch-level CoA information is available where applicable and focuses on purity testing. We do not claim identity testing unless that test exists for the specific batch.
- Store the lyophilised vial at -20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted for in-vitro work, follow your laboratory's standard handling and stability protocols. Most reconstituted peptides remain stable at 2-8°C for short-term use.
- No. All Peptra Labs peptides are supplied strictly for laboratory and educational research use only. They are not approved for human or veterinary administration, are not evaluated by the FDA or EMA, and must not be used as drugs, supplements, or cosmetic products.
- We ship across the EU and the United Kingdom. Most orders arrive within 2-5 business days. Free shipping on orders over €300.
- Each shipment contains the sealed, clearly labelled vial only. Batch-level CoA information is available in the Lab Reports section where applicable. Research-use warnings are shown on the vial label and site policy pages.
- Yes. Recent lab reports are available in our Lab Reports section. If you'd like the COA for a specific lot before purchasing, contact us at info@peptralabs.com.
