SS-31 (elamipretide/Bendavia) selectively accumulates in the inner mitochondrial membrane independently of membrane potential, stabilizing cardiolipin essential for cristae structure and electron transport chain organization. Research Highlights 1. Membrane Stabilization — Reduces electron leak, decreases ROS generation, improves ATP production efficiency.
